Sharon L. Brown

The angels came to take our beautiful Sharon from us at her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on June 13, 2006, to join her friends and family members already in heaven. She was born on March 7, 1959, at Grisell Memorial hospital in Ransom, Kansas. Her family moved to Lindsay, Oklahoma in 1966 and she has lived here since that time. Sharon worked for the City of Lindsay and managed the Golf Course Pro Shop for several years. She was a member of B.P.O.E. #2351 (Lindsay Elks Lodge). She always enjoyed participating in all of the Lindsay Elks Lodge activities, especially the golf tournaments. Sharon enjoyed golf, camping, playing card games, working with plants, and spending time with her friends and family?especially her beautiful granddaughter Kendra. Sharon loved her family; she loved life, and dearly loved her friends. She never knew a stranger and was always loyal to all the people she held dear to her heart. You almost never saw Sharon without a big smile and a twinkle in those beautiful blue-green eyes. Even when she felt so bad during her battle with cancer, her concern was always for those around her; taking care of their needs before she took care of her own. Sharon is survived by her parents, Robert "Bob" and Loretta Ummel; her children, Austin and Jessica Brown, all of Lindsay, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her beloved three year old granddaughter, Kendra Brown, who called Sharon "Nana". She is also survived by her sister, Brenda Rushing and Mark Hilmes of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Brenda?s family, Kambrie Shannon and husband Britt of Blanchard, Oklahoma and their children Kelton and Jalee; Kassie Kelly and husband Derrick of Lindsay and their children, Braydon Mitchell and Brenna Kelly; Kolby Rushing and his son Kaydon of Ada, Oklahoma. Also, her sister, Julie Hubbard and husband James of Lindsay, and their children, Matthew and Mercedes "Sadie" Lail of the home. We know our beautiful, lovely, caring and gracious Sharon is in heaven and she is now free of pain and suffering. She was a very hard working and determined young lade and left a wonderful legacy behind for all of us that knew, loved and cared for her. We will forever hold her dearly in our hearts. Services for Sharon were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at the United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements were under the direction B. G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
