Nona Lee Horsley

Nona Lee Horsley of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this earthly life on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 at the Lindsay Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Nona was born on January 28, 1920 in Centrahoma, Oklahoma to William David Thomas and Ollie Lee (Barnes) Thomas. She married James Ralph Horsley on September 3rd, 1940 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Nona was very active in her church, the Lindsay First Assembly of God. She was a member of the Women?s Mission Group and she served as a Sunday School teacher for thirty years. Nona enjoyed reading the Bible and cooking. She loved her family and loved to cook for them. Nona did needlework, was a seamstress, and loved to garden. She took great pleasure in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and make tents all over the back yard and house. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Horsley is survived by her husband, James Ralph Horsley, two sons, Jimmy Kent Horsley and wife Jerre of Houston, Texas and Gary Brent Horsley and wife Kathy of Lindsay, Oklahoma, one daughter, Janis K. Helm of Rockwall, Texas, one sister, Mary Kay Lang of Lindsay, Oklahoma, her grandchildren; Dean Horsley of Pearland, Texas, Mark Horsley of Houston, Texas, Kim Covengton of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stephanie Black of Rockwall, Texas, Melanie Newby of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Jason Helm of Forney, Texas, Tiffany Cruce of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Valerie Tucker of Lindsay, Oklahoma along with many great-grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Horsley in death were her parents, Bill and Ollie Thomas, one brother, W.D. Thomas and one sister, Lavelle Tuggle. Funeral services for Mrs. Horsley are set for two o?clock p.m. on Friday, March 12th, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor Rodney Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
