Mary Louise Lee Watson Gregg

Mary Louise Lee Watson Gregg was born on June 23, 1931 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Jessie “Jack” Lee and Bessie Lee. She lived in Lindsay, Oklahoma most of her life. She married A.W. “Red” Watson on July 13, 1948 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He was the father of her three children. Red passed away on April 15, 1967. She married Ed Gregg in May 1973. Ed passed away on May 30, 1983. Mary was known by her family and community to be a hard worker. Having been raised during depression times, she knew how to seek out and find ways to earn a dollar. She has always picked up cans and cleaned junk iron. In earlier days, she worked hard in the broomcorn fields around Lindsay. It is a tradition also in her family to pick up and harvest pecans, and she continued to do this every year. She was a member of the Baptist church. Mary left this world on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 85. She will be missed by her friends, her community and mostly by her family who believes she has been provided with broomcorn to cut and cans to pick up in Heaven. Mary is survived by her three daughters: Linda Lane, Shirley Baker and Brenda Watson and husband Dale Shelton and her siblings: Edith Williams, Gladys Cargile, Rosa Cannon and Jimmy Lee-Underwood. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Cecil Lane, Vera Baker, Clifton Williams, Suzanne Ramming and Cathy Sue Ramming, her great-granddaughter, Heather Johnson and her great-great grandchildren: Kaylee Johnson and Brayden Johnson as well as her Aunt Carrie Armstrong, many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, A.W. “Red” Watson, her husband, Ed Gregg, her parents, Jack and Bessie Lee, one sister, Janie Lee-Underwood, one brother, Jesse Lee-Underwood and two sons-in-law, Jerry Lane and Leonard Baker. Funeral services for Mary are set for eleven o’clock a.m. on Thursday, July14, 2016 at Erin Springs Baptist Church, located at 13053 Highway 76 South of Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Bro. Bill Love officiating. Interment will follow at Erin Springs Cemetery, South of Lindsay. Services are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
