Marie Hightower

Marie Hightower formerly of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed away on May 3, 2006 at the age of 74 in Jones, Oklahoma. She was born to Leonard and Minnie McDaniel. Her life began on Christmas day of 1931. Even though she was a quiet person she would get her voice heard. She was always a small woman with a big heart. Marie enjoyed being a Brownie Leader. Her daughter Virginia remembers Marie being on the Foreman Scotty Show on television. She also enjoyed helping out at the school. Marie loved animals and enjoyed going to her Aunt Nora?s and visiting with Aunt Nora and Uncle John. Nora and John lived on a farm and Marie took great pleasure in eating Aunt Nora?s good cooking. Marie?s oldest daughter, Virginia Towery feels she was more fortunate than her two younger sisters because she knew her mother before a severe mental disorder occurred. Marie lived in the Lindsay Nursing Home for four years and then at Lakeview Nursing Home and then she moved to Jones, Oklahoma where she spent the remainder of her life. She was loved by staff and residents. Her roommate of 8 years will miss her very much as well as her daughters will. While Marie was living at Jones Nursing Home, Vickie, Becky and Virginia would bring her to their homes during the holidays and special events. That was a special treat for Marie, her children and grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Leota Parker and two great grandchildren, Destiny and Christian Fife. She is survived by her three daughters, Virginia Towery, Rebecca Morgan, and Vickie Self. Marie is also survived by her grandchildren; Crystal Fife, Veronica Ferkins, Jennifer Anderson, Joseph Self, April Self, Lane Self, Zachary Morgan, Robert Morgan and Carly Morgan, her great grandchildren; Sebastian Douglas Fife, and Cadence Evelyn Anderson, one brother, Billy Ray McDaniel, and two sisters;Lucille Miller, Ilene Enoch. Services for Marie will be on May 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G.
