John Houston Springman

John Houston Springman passed away on April 19, 2007 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. John was born on January 23, 1929 in McClain County. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and the son of William and Julia Lou Springman. John was a member of the Banner Baptist Church. He married Claudette Hawkins on June 26, 1950 and together raised three children. On November 22, 1985, he married Sue McGuire in Gainsville, Texas. John enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, coaching little league, playing dominoes and visiting with family. He was retired from Tyler and Simpson after 28 years, then worked in the oil field service as a manager. John is preceded in death by his parents and one step-son, Larry Cooper. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Springman and children, Leatrice Massey of Newalla, Oklahoma, Wynema Dollar and husband Ralph of Springer, Oklahoma, John H. Springman, II and wife Lea Ann of Lindsay, Oklahoma, his stepchildren, Roy and Katherine Cooper of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Luann and husband David of Winnsboro, Texas, Lorri and husband Monty Boatright of Ardmore, Oklahoma, six grandchildren, Denise Melkovitz, Tina Epperson, Dawny Kay Lail, Julia Custard, Ralph Dollar, III, Joanie Springman, 11 step grandchildren, Michael Cooper, James Cooper, Wesley Aillingsworth, Delilah Hamilton, Kimerly Ford, Brian Cooper, Kourtney Cargal, Johnny Aillingsworth, Robert Levi Cooper, Kody Boatright, Paige Cooper, 9 great-grandchildren, Roger, Desiree, and Robert Melkovitz, Shelby, and Claudia Lail, Justin Patton, Jaden, and Cason Dollar, and 7 step great-grandchildren, Zane Cooper, Brayden Hamilton, Alexis Cooper, Harleigh Hamilton, Ayden Cooper, Billy Wayne Cooper, and Taylor Lang Aillingsworth. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Thelma and husband John Howell of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Gene Springman and wife Bernice of Lindsay, Mary Robertson of Lindsay, David Springman and wife Barbara of Healdton, Oklahoma. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services for John will be on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
