James Garland Midkiff

Born James Garland Midkiff, August 24, 1947, but family & friends knew him as Jim, to William P. and Lillie Mae Lambright Midkiff Lauderdale Keeling in Lubbock Texas, he was the second of 11 children having 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Nealy of the home, three sons, and one son and daughter by marriage; Glenn Wayne and wife Veronica Midkiff, James Lancer Midkiff and Aaron Paige and wife Ressa Midkiff, all of San Antonio Texas, Roy Thornburg Jr. of Moore OK, and Selena and Johnny Diggs of Purcell, OK, his grandchildren; Misty & Mindy, Dustin & Devon, Amanda, Hillary & Becca Midkiff, his brothers; William Glenn & wife Lorraine Midkiff of Marlow Ok, Floyd Wayne and wife Mary Midkiff of Sandy Grove, OK, Grady Clinton Lauderdale of Marlow, OK, Calvin Coolage Jr. and wife Jeannie Keeling of Marlow, OK, and Melvin Preston Keeling of Chickasha OK, and his sisters; Donna Marie and Jack Killough of Oklahoma City, OK, Karla Sue Louge of Foster OK, Dorothy Jean and Marvin Smith of Marlow, OK, and Vanessa Lee Lauderdale of Marlow, OK. Also Jim had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, too many to list!! And he loved them all. Preceding Jim to Heaven?s gates were his parents, one brother, Stephen Leonard Lauderdale and daughter-in-law, Kathy Midkiff. Jim was an L.P.N. and he worked with Professional Home Care in Pauls Valley, OK for over l8 years. The family would like to thank the PHC family & Harold Hovis and P.V. Hospice for all the help they lovingly gave to Jim in his time of need. Jim served his country in the US Navy. Jim was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Lindsay OK where he was called to be the music leader and fill in pastor. (Jim was an Ordained Minister). Jim loved to sing and play his guitar and had written over 60 gospel songs having put most of his music on CDs for his famly and friends to enjoy. Cancer took Jim from us, he fought a hard battle. The battle was lost on April 11, 2010 , but heaven was gained. To be gone from the body is to be in the arms of God. Jim has walked down the old dusty road and is waiting there for the rest of us. See you later Brother. A service will be given in Jim?s honor at the Freewill Baptist Church, 507 S Main, Lindsay, OK with Ret. Pastor Ancil Simmons of Grand Lake, OK officiating. Jim?s body will be laid to rest at the Bradley Cemetery, Bradley, OK, while his spirit will be resting in the arms of God. Services are under the direction of B.G.
