Fannie Webb

Fannie Webb was born May 8, 1912. She was one of 14 children of Jim and Lou Henslee of the Banner Community. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents and 11 of her siblings. The surviving Henslee children are Lorene Smith of San Jose, California and Gilbert and wife DeLoris Henslee of Grandbury, Texas. Fannie married R. G.(Johnny) Webb on May 16, 1937 at Banner. Together they had 9 children. She is survived by one son, Johnny Webb of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and four daughters, Betty and Troy Waite of Ponca City, Ola Aday of Ozark, Arkansas, Janie McCartney of Dougherty, Oklahoma, and Shirley Ketchum of Alex, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her daughters-in law, Teresa Webb of Mooreland, Oklahoma, Ann Stephenson of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Carolyn Murphy of Medford, Oklahoma, Sons-in law; Eugene VanderSluis of Holland, Michigan, and Thomas Stephenson of Lindsay, Oklahoma, sisters-in-law, Mae Henslee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kathy Henslee of Norman, Oklahoma. Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, R. G. Webb, three sons; Don, Bob and Jimmy Webb and one daughter, Joy VanderSluis, three sons-in-law, Raymond Aday, Willard McCartney, Tommy Ketchum and one granddaughter, Mandy Ketchum. Fannie was a charter member of Banner Baptist Church which was founded as a Southern Baptist Church in 1946. Fannie always said with pride that her life started at Banner and would end at Banner. She was a strong Christian woman who raised her family to love the Lord. At one time all her children were members of Banner Baptist Church. Fannie?s home was always open to family and friends with good home cooked meals and great cream pies. Her favorite love was her family. She saw 26 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren (with one on the way) and 9 great-great grandchildren born. She loved for them to visit. They always put a smile on her face. In the later years, when all she could do was sit, she loved holding the babies. On family holidays your presence was expected at Grandma Webb?s. There was room to room people, but that?s how she liked it. Some grandchildren can say they slept on the bathroom floor but there was always room for one more at the Webb house where she lived a long and happy life. There is no way we could start to say how much her friends meant to her. There will always be a place in our hearts for friends, but in her last years Thelma Howell has been priceless. With you Thelma she was able to stay in her home which was her haven. Grandma Webb loved to quilt, garden and can what she grew. She spent many hours doing what she loved just to give it away. There were ship quilts made for all her grandchildren with love in each stitch. Services for Grandma Webb will be held on Thursday September 28, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. at the Banner Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma. Rev. Mike Roberts and Reverend Chopper McCartney will be officiating the service. The pallbearers will be the children and grandchildren of John and Thelma Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be John and Thelma Howell, Ruth and Bill Landers, the Smith family, Lola, Cecil, Freida, Elmer, Inetha, Jerry and Darlene. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B.
