Doris Jo Harrison

Doris Jo Harrison of Lindsay, Oklahoma departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at the age of 85. Doris was born on May 26th, 1925 in Munday, Texas to Mahon Quinn Shaw and Ninnie Lou (Scott) Shaw. She married Audrey Harrison on October 18th, 1946 in Davis, Oklahoma. Doris lived for fifty-six years in the Lindsay and Erin Springs area. She was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church. Doris worked at the Handy Andy Broom Plant in Lindsay and at Fay?s Dairy Freeze in Erin Springs. She had also worked as a caregiver for several people and as a housekeeper. Doris loved to iron. She also enjoyed cooking and canning as well as watching wrestling. But what she loved most was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harrison is survived by two daughters, Ada Dalley and husband Ken of Noble, Oklahoma and Laquita Henson and husband Gary of Lindsay, Oklahoma, one son, Mike Harrison of Lindsay, Oklahoma, three sisters; LaJoyce Pierce of Bula, Texas, Barbara Finnan, Las Vegas, Nevada, Judy Towler, Houston, Texas and two brothers, Homer Shaw and Zach Shaw, both of Ada, Oklahoma. Doris also leaves behind three grandchildren; Robert Dalley of Austin, Texas, Will Dalley of Norman, Oklahoma and Shawndra Belveal and husband Brian of Lindsay, Oklahoma along with four great-grandchildren; Cullie and Cade Belveal of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Antara and Olivia Dalley of Austin, Texas. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Audrey Harrison who passed away on September 26th, 1997 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. They were married for 50 years. Also preceding Doris in death were her parents, Mahon and Ninnie Shaw, two sisters, Margaret Smith and Mildred McGowan and two brothers, LaRoyce Shaw and Richard Shaw. Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison are set for ten o?clock a.m. on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor John Hornbeck officiating and Pastor Randy Allen assisting. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
