Dempsey Holman

Dempsey Holman of Maysville, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, March 6th, 2011 at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 81. Dempsey was born on October 5, 1929 in Bradley, Oklahoma to Robert Franklin Holman and Viola Susan (Ramsey) Holman. He married Onetta Johnston who passed away on June 18th, 1973. He later married Marie Henry. Marie passed away on September 29th, 2009. Dempsey was an oilfield worker, farmer and rancher as well as a loving husband and father. He was a member of the Assembly of God church in Maysville, Oklahoma. Dempsey loved fishing, noodling, aggravating and taking care of his cows. He was a big fan of Western Movies and enjoyed watching them. Mostly, he loved taking care of his family. Mr. Holman is survived by his children; Robert and Helen Swinford of Poteau, OK, Diana Gray of Lindsay, OK, Sandy Wright and Dewayne Goldman of Dibble, OK, Jean and Gerald Vaughn of Lindsay, OK, Patricia and Butch Cunningham of Lindsay, OK, Sheila Morris and Steve Garatea of Lindsay, OK and Dana and Curtis Morton of Maysville, OK. He is also survived by one brother, Donald Holman, two sisters; Jo Ramsey and Fay West, his grandchildren; Willie Elrod, Jeanetta Bates, Tina Ray, Shane Miles, Tim Vaughn, Misty Vaughn, Josh Vaughn, Jason Cunningham, LaShay Cunningham, Sheina Medellion, Denise Gandy, Ricky Hines, Shawn Morris, Paige Morris, Tabatha Oliver, Jenny Carter, Onetta LaReau, Melinda Larson, Bill Painter, Coy Payne and Heath Payne as well as a host of great-grandchildren; Toyah Cline, Lisa Allen, Letia Skinner, Janie Lee, Tracey Cain, Phillip Payne, Rachel Payne, Heath Robinson, Nocona Ray, Janet Reddin, Anthony Miles, Brandon Bobb, Logan Oliver, Tucker Oliver, Makenna Oliver, Jaylee Carter, Shyan Medellin, Coda Medellin, Austin Hines, Jessie Hines, Bailey Hines, Melanie Gandy, Clayton Bartlett, Brooklyn Perry, Ryan Perry, Jeannie Vaughn, April LaReau, Raven Haney, Rhealynne Priest, Kayden Cunningham, Tommy Cunningham, China Anderson and Shelby Anderson and eight great-great grandchildren; Cierra Ray, Tianndra Reddin, Frank Cline, Roy Cline, David Bumpass, Cheyann Bumpass, Archie Bumpass and Braxley Skinner. Mr. Holman was preceded in death by his first wife, Onetta Holman, his second wife, Marie Holman, his parents, Robert Franklin Holman and Viola Susan Holman, two daughters; Edwina Lyn Holman and Barbara Ann Payne, one son, Dempsey Jr. Holman, four brothers; Earl Ramsey, Bill Holman, George Holman and Ray Holman and two grandchildren; Danny Allan Hines and April Dawn Gray. Funeral services for Mr. Holman are set for two o?clock p.m. on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 at Assembly of God Church in Maysville, Oklahoma with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
