Delbert Allen Smith

Delbert Allen Smith of Lindsay, Oklahoma departed this life on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 at Lindsay Municipal Hospital in Lindsay at the age of 78. Delbert was born on December 17, 1931 in Calumet, Oklahoma to Albert and Violet Smith. Delbert married the love of his life, Clara Smith in Anadarko, Oklahoma on December 18th, 1950. They lived in the Foster area for 21 years, and he resided the last 14 years in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Delbert was a wonderful provider for his family, and worked many jobs over the years which included part owner and operator of "Farris, Smith, and Hayes" Construction Company, General Electric Company, Yandell?s Well Service, and he was a bulldozer operator for Brigget where he retired. Delbert enjoyed reading, dabbling in the Stock Market, and going to the casinos. He loved his family and was the happiest when he was surrounded by them. Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Nancy Finney of Lindsay, OK, Dale Smith of Fort Worth, TX, Trena and husband James Whitefield of Lindsay, OK, and Scott and wife Dorothy Smith of Maysville, OK, Grandchildren, Stephanie Finney, Rachael Nikirk and husband Bruce, Devin Finney and wife Jenni, Kristen Velazquez and husband Walter, Dustin Smith, Trey Whitefield, Whitney Clingensmith, Candace Smith, Grub Smith, Dellania Smith, and Destry Smith. Great Grandchildren, Shelsea Finney, Kylee Arnold, Coty Ramming, Hayden and Marc Nikirk, Paige Finney, and Nevaeh Velazquez, Great-Great Grandchildren, Alyia Salinas, and Liliana Rogers, Brother Wayne Smith,and sister Pearlene Smith. Delbert was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Clara Smith, his parents, Albert and Violet Smith, and his brothers, Roylee, Joyce and Carlos Smith. Funeral services for Mr. Smith are set for two o?clock p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma located at 308 SW 3rd. St. with Rev. Adam Shahan officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
