Betty Jo Estep

Betty Jo Cannon Estep was born October 21, 1925 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Lillie Bell and Perry Berkley. She went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2008. Betty married Archie Lee Cannon Jr. on October 31, 1944 in Lindsay. Together they had four children; Linda Jean, Deborha Ann, Steven Brent, and Teresa Gail. They lived in Lindsay most of their life together, and were married for 36 years until Archie?s passing in 1981. On December 8, 1987, Betty married Delmer Estep in Choctaw, Oklahoma. They lived in the Oklahoma City area before returning to Lindsay. They enjoyed playing games like dice, bump, and cards with family. They were married 19 years until his passing in October, 2006. When Betty was raising her family, she always had a houseful of kids. She was happiest when there were a lot of people around her. Betty also enjoyed going to church, gardening, playing piano, traveling, and spending time with and taking care of her family. She was a Charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Betty is survived by her daughter Linda Simmons and husband David of Lindsay, one step-son Roy Estep and family of El Reno, five grandchildren; Mark Karns and wife Angela of Newcastle, Ricky Karns and wife Stephanie, Misty Whitworth and husband Robert, and Jacob Crites all of Lindsay, and Adam Cannon of Florida, fifteen great grandchildren; Dylan, Landon, and Delaynie Karns of Moore, Travis and Kenny Charles of Oklahoma City, Shannon and Whitney Smith of Lindsay, Dalton Smith of Newcastle, Christopher Estes of New Hampshire, Tanner Karns of New Orleans, Shelby and Hunter Karns of Lindsay, Kurissa, Klayton, and Kenzlee Whitworth of Lindsay, and one great-great grandchild Jacan Estes of New Hampshire. She is also survived by one sister Imogene Thomas and husband Dub, one sister-in-law, Snooks Berkley and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Archie Cannon Jr. and Delmer Estep, two daughters; Deborha Ann Cannon and Teresa Crites, one son; Steve Cannon, one grandson; Josh Crites and brother Wendell Berkley. Funeral services for Betty Jo Cannon Estep are set for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27th, 2008 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay with Rev. David Guerrero officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
