Velma L. Brady

June 30, 1921 - July 1, 2004

Velma L. Brady passed away July 1, 2004 at Integris Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Velma L. Davenport was born on June 30, 1921 to Levi and Clara Mae Davenport in Paden, Oklahoma. She married Alfred Roland Brady in Seminole, Oklahoma on December 21, 1940. Velma has resided in Lindsay since 1956. Her husband, Alfred retired from Cities Service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church as well as a member of the Lindsay Bowling League for a number of years. She was known for her extensive iris and day lily collection. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling and bird watching. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Roland Brady, her son, Larry Dale Brady, parents, Levi and Clara Davenport and one sister, Mildred Anders. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Amy Brady of Muskogee, Oklahoma, one niece, Carolyn Plummer Brittain of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Brady and husband, Kevin Erdmann, of Gilbert, Arizona, and Alan Jay Brady of Claremore, Oklahoma. Velma also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Adam Bae Brady Erdman of Gilbert, Arizona. Services for Velma will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Lindsay, Oklahoma on July 3, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the Brady family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com.
