Sedalia Bray passed away Sunday morning, December 14, 2003 in Lindsay OK. She was born to Charles and Ivory Harris Swindell on the 25th of April, 1912 in Sanger, Texas. Sedalia moved to the Lindsay area in 1928. She and her husband of 35 years, Roy Lee Bray, were married at the Lindsay First Baptist Church on November 22, 1930. Sedalia worked many years for P.R. Williamsons and Rexall Drug. She also worked as a salesperson at AMC in Oklahoma City as well as owning and operating a laundromat in Lindsay. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. In her earlier years she was a Cub Scout Leader and a member of the Purdy Home Demonstration Club. Later in life she was a Volunteer Grandmother until she was 81 years old, a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Nutrition Center and a cook and Sponsor at Falls Creek. Sedalia loved to sew, read and visit with friends and neighbors. Her family was the most important thing to her. Sedalia is survived by her daughter, Pat Mashburn and husband Bob of Lindsay, OK, son Ken Bray and wife Debbie of Richmond, TX, and daughter-in-law Joy Bray of Lindsay, OK, Three sisters: Cletia Fletcher of Lindsay, OK, Dennie Brown of Fort Worth ,TX, and Obelia Bray of Big Springs, TX. Seven grandchildren: Mike Bray of Monument, CO, Matt Bray of Houston, TX., Josh Bray of Richmond ,VA, Chance Bray of Norman, OK, Kristi Whitlow of Oklahoma City, OK., Blake Mashburn of Lindsay, OK, Lisa Moreland of Tulsa, OK; ten great-grandchildren: Carl Mashburn of Phoenix, AZ, Amy Richardson of Norman, OK, Kelli Mashburn of Stillwater, OK, Kacy Mashburn of Lindsay, OK, Michelle Bray of McGuire Air Force Base, Brian Bray of Monument, CO, Leslie and Ashley Whitlow of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jordan and Gabrielle Moreland of Tulsa, OK.; as well as many neices, nephews and countless friends. Preceded in death are both of her parents Charles and Ivory Swindell , her husband Roy Lee Bray, one son Billy Roy Bray, three brothers; Burnes Swindell, Denver Swindell and T.C. Swindell, two sisters, Cora Vaughn and Emma Johnson; and one grandson, Kenneth Paul Bray. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday December 16th, 2003 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay. Pallbearers will include Grandsons Mike Bray, Matt Bray, Josh Bray, Chance Bray, Blake Mashburn and Ryan Whitlow. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of B.G Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
