Mark Landers Sawyer, age 48, of Lindsay, OK, passed away on October 12, 2001 at the Pauls Valley General Hospital in Pauls Valley, OK. He was born July 12, 1953 to Gene Landers Sawyer and Mamie Bell Word Sawyer. Mark was a lifelong resident of the Lindsay area and attended First Baptist Church in Lindsay. He enjoyed boating, skiing, and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Marie Sawyer of the home. They were married on July 7, 1999 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Mark is also survived by his daughter Erikka Sawyer Rich of Denison, Texas; two step-sons, Cody and Dakota Meyers; and sister, Lisa Sawyer Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, OK. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2001 at the Pine Cemetery outside of Coalgate, OK at 2 pm with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Branch, Mike Flesher, Jay Horn, Steve Wisener, Steve Burnett, Jerry Sanford, Roger Sanford, and Blaise Sanford.
