Bobby Elbert Stewart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bobby Elbert Stewart, age 59 passed from this life into the waiting arms of Jesus on July 30, 2003 at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born on April 6, 1944 in Lindsay, OK to Homer & Bernice (Walker) Stewart. He was a graduate of Hughes High School and worked in the oilfield industry until 1998, when he retired due to bad health. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and dominoes. Through the years he enjoyed raising bird dogs and had established a long lasting friendship with Harold Gardner. Later in his illness, he enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting with friends and neighbors who dropped by. On August 8, 1964, he married Joy Scruggs. He is survived by his wife of the home, two daughters, Monica Denise and husband, Danny Meek of Noble, OK, Billie Gail and husband Ray Webb, of Lindsay. Four grandchildren Debra Michelle (Shelly) and husband, Axel Aguilar of Noble, OK, Kelly Danielle and Rocky McClish Meek, of Noble, OK, and Jordan Isaiah Webb, of Lindsay, OK. One sister, Maryland and husband, Tal Staggs, of Lindsay, OK, and one brother, Scott Stewart of Sugar Loaf Mountain, Arkansas. He is also survived by his wifes parents, Delno and Tina Scruggs, three sister - in - laws and two brother - in - laws. Bob is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many other friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents: Tan and Myrtle Walker; and Jim and Delia Stewart. He was a loving husband, father and papaw. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Services will be held, at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 2, 2003, at the Church of God in Lindsay, with Rev. Harold Gardner officiating and Rev. Brian Archer assisting. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay. Arrangements are with B.G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay.
