Virginia Wright

Virginia “Ginger” (Lindsey) Wright was born on December 14, 1943, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Bud Lindsey and Ruth (Goza) Lindsey. She passed from this life on March 10, 2024, in her home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Virginia met and married the love of her life, Floyd Wright, on June 11, 1962, in her mother’s home in Cox City, Oklahoma. They spent over 61 loving years of marriage together. Virginia was raised in Cox City, Oklahoma. After marriage, she moved to Doyle, Oklahoma, where she and Floyd lived for over 60 years. Virginia spent the final years of her life as a resident of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Virginia had a green thumb. It did not matter if it was flowers or gardening, she could pretty much grow anything. Virginia was also an amazing cook. Her family bragged that her fried chicken should be world famous. She was a hard worker and gave every job her best. In addition to working outside the home, she helped her husband on their farm planting crops and working cattle better than most men. Over the years Virginia worked many different jobs. She drove a school bus for Bray Schools, was a waitress for a time, and worked for Wal-Mart in Lindsay for about 13 years. Left to cherish Virginia’s memory are her husband, Floyd Wright of the home, her son, Keith Wright of Foster, Oklahoma, her daughter, Tina and husband Danny Kelly of Foster, Oklahoma, her sister, Sharon Wright of Lindsay, Oklahoma, her grandchildren, Jessie and Otis of Foster, Oklahoma, Madison and Justin of Purdy, Oklahoma, Hunter and Ethan of Foster, Oklahoma, Briar and Craig of Velma, Oklahoma, and her great grandchildren, Dani, Henslee, Maverick, Ryett, and Hesston. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Ruth Lindsey, her sisters, Mary Farley, Fern Geffre, and Sandra Lindsey, her nephew, Jonathan Wright, and her brothers-in-law, Philmore Wright, Lloyd Wright, and Milton Wright. A funeral service to honor the life of Virginia is set to begin at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Wilbourn Family Funeral Home Chapel, in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She will be laid to rest following the service at Purdy Cemetery in Purdy, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Scott and Angel Wilbourn of Wilbourn Family Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
