Box 338 Lindsay, Oklahoma 73054 405-756-2143www.boydstonfuneralhome.com Ruth Day Watterman Lane Ruth Day was born on April 7, 1913 in Clarion, Iowa to Vida Nation Day and Clarence Manley Day and died on April 30, 2008 in Grapevine, Texas after a long and fulfilling life. She had two brothers, Clarence and Albert. Ruth was married to James Watterman who died in 1970 and to Curtis Lane who died in 1984. Also preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, an infant daughter, young son Henry, and her son Clarence Edward (Eddie) in 2007. Ruth is survived by her children Patricia Ruth and Bill Skinner, daughter-in-law, Gladys Watterman, Neosha Ann and John Mackey, James Henry and Jeannine Watterman, Japanese son Masaru Aoyagi and wife Sayoko, stepchildren Ray and Mary Lane, Marie and Gale Hoover, and Barbara and Floyd Thompson, Nine grandchildren; Diana and Janet; Marlene, Craig, and Rhonda; and Jim, Amy, Scott and Kelly and their families including sixteen great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and many step-grandchildren will miss their grandmother. Niece and nephews Nancy Olson, Clarence Day and Andy Pratt were very special to her as was her sister-in-law Cecilia Grady. There are many other nieces and nephews, and cousins who were part of Ruth?s life. Ruth lived in Lindsay over 50 years and was a homemaker and music teacher. She was a 25 year member of the Hughes Home Extension Club and a long-time member of the United Methodist Church. For many years she served coffee and cookies after Sunday School. In later years she was active in AARP, Lion?s Club, and the Delta Community Action program. She started a volunteer program to help the Chamber of Commerce. Even when she moved to Texas she volunteered at the First Street Mission sponsored by the First Methodist Church in Fort Worth where Pat and Bill Skinner are members. Ruth was noted for her beautiful singing, prize-winning cakes, volunteer work and her brown bread at Christmas. Services for Ruth will be on Saturday, May 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com. Ruth was a loving person and will me missed by her life long friends and all of her loved ones.
