Lora Lee Cruse

Lora Lee "Conner" Cruse of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, October 10th, 2008 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 79. She was born on April 20, 1929 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Clarence Lee Conner and Lora Etna "Phillips" Conner. She married J.E. Cruse in Lindsay, Oklahoma on June 1, 1947. Mrs. Cruse was a long-time resident of Lindsay. She worked as a secretary for Lindsay High School, and for thirty years, she worked alongside her husband, J.E. in their family business, Cruse Department Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Lora Lee was also a housewife and mother who loved to cook and sew. She found enjoyment in reading, helping with church bereavement dinners, golfing, and watching football and basketball. Lora Lee always greeted those around her with a pleasant smile and a kind word. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Cruse is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lora Etna Conner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and her husband J. E. Cruse. Mrs. Cruse is survived by her three children; Connie Cowan and husband Bill of Lindsay, Oklahoma, J.E.Cruse, Jr. and wife Cindy of Joplin, Missouri and Tony Cruse of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two brothers; Bill Conner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tim Conner of Blanchard, Oklahoma, six grandchildren; Leslie Cowan of Fort Worth, Texas, Greg Cowan and wife Anna of Tulsa, Oklahoma, J.E. Cruse III and wife Terrla of Joplin, Missouri, Jennifer Long and husband Tim of Joplin, Missouri, and Lindsay Cruse and Anthony Cruse, Jr., both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lora Lee also leaves behind five great-grandchildren; Miller Long, Molly Long, and Maxton Long of Joplin, Missouri, Isabella Cruse of Joplin, Missouri and Lit?l Miss C soon to be of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Mrs. Cruse are set for 2:00p.m.Monday October13,2008 at the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Intermet will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
