Leora Clingman

Leora Victora Clingman departed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 26th, 2008, at the Lindsay Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Leora was born in Cotton County near Temple, Oklahoma, on December 27th, 1919, to Leo and Lula Lowe. She married Orval Ray Clingman on December 29th, 1935, and had two children, Calvin Ray and Lillie Mae. Orval and Leora moved their family to Lindsay in 1948 when Orval took a job for the City of Lindsay where he worked for the street department for over 30 years before he retired. Leora worked several places in Lindsay before opening her own business on Main Street in 1974 and called it "Leora?s". She sold women?s dress clothes, frames, gift items and wedding dresses. Due to health reasons she closed her store in 1994. Leora was preceded in death by her parents, her son Calvin in 1985, her husband Orval in 1996, her grandson Roger Davis in 2000 and her son-in-law Omer Neal "Red" Davis in 2004 all of Lindsay, one sister Leola Edgemon of Temple, OK and also two brothers Tommy Lowe and Lloyd Lowe of Waurika, OK. She is survived by her daughter Lillie Mae Davis of Lindsay, her grandson Royce Clingman and wife Anissa, her granddaughters Lea Ann Springman and husband John, Cheryl Doyal and husband Wayne, and Cheri Davis, all of Lindsay. Resa Taylor of Lake Texoma. Great grand children include April Taylor of Norman, OK, Jamie Doyal of Stillwater, OK, Joanie Wells and husband Jerry of Goldsby, OK, Jessica Doyal of Norman, OK, Cody Clingman and wife Amber, Lacie Taylor, Russell Davis, Cory and Calli Clingman all of Lindsay. Also Quent Cowen and wife Bobbie of Bridge Creek, OK and Kyle Smith of Fort Worth, TX. Leora is also survived by seven great great grand children, Krystin and Caden Clingman of Lindsay, Jason Randall Hall III of Norman, OK, Tayller, Lexi and Riley Cowen of Bridge Creek, OK and Cyann Smith of Fort Worth, TX. Also, one nephew Edwin Lowe and wife Willa Mae of Duncan, OK and one niece Alma Lee Bennett of Byres, TX Leora will be remembered by her family and friends for all the love and kindness that she has shown throughout her life. She enjoyed doing china painting, ceramics, needle work and cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed the many times people would stop by her store and just visit. Leora had a very strong faith and was an inspiration to her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Lindsay for over 50 years and her services will be held there on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 2:00 pm under the direction of Boydston Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Cody Clingman, Cory Clingman, Quent Cowen, Wayne Doyal, John Springman and Jerry Wells. Honorary pallbearers are Homer Rinehart, Tom Stinnett and Perry Farley.
