Kurt Douglas Hassler

Kurt Douglas Hassler was born on February 7, 1962, to Robert Louis Hassler and Nettie Bethina (Smith) Hassler in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He entered into his eternal rest at his home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on May 28, 2019, at the age of 57. Kurt had been a resident of Lindsay for most of his life. He was a graduate of the Lindsay High School and a member of Banner Baptist Church in Lindsay. He spent most of his working career at Weatherford, where he was a fishing tool supervisor. Kurt married the love of his life Sherry Lanell Davidson in Dow, Oklahoma on January 23, 2009. They had ten years filled with love and adventure. Kurt was a true motorcycle enthusiast. He found peace and relaxation while riding his bike. It was his favorite thing to do. Kurt was hard worker and an inspiration to all. He was the example of what a loving husband and caring father should be. He was always strived to make sure his family had all they needed and always put them first. He was a wonderful man that was taken too soon. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but his legacy and memories will live on in their hearts forever. Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Sherry Hassler of Lindsay, Oklahoma, his children: Bryan & wife Elizabith Hassler of Chickasha, Oklahoma, James Cole Hassler of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Terissa Hassler of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Trenton & wife Chandra Zozula of Lindsay, Oklahoma, his siblings: Phyllis & husband Dick Hobbs of Dibble, Oklahoma, Melvin & wife Tonya Hassler of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Donnie & wife Brenda Hassler of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Keith & wife Debbie Hassler of Lindsay, Oklahoma, his grandchildren: Haylee, Lizzie, David, Jimmy, Jamie, and Bae-leigh, mother-in-law: Peggy Davidson, sister-in-laws: Deb & husband Clifton Perot, LeeAnn & husband Tom Hansen, and Amy & husband Marty Cooper, a special brother from another mother, J.D. Mullins, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Nettie Hassler, his sister: Lola Jones, his two stepsons: Thomas Zozula and Timothy Zozula, and his father-in-law: Bob Davidson. A funeral service to honor the life of Kurt is set begin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the First Assembly of God in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Scott and Angel Wilbourn of Boydston-Wilbourn Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
