Jesse Laverne Eyster

Jesse LaVerne Eyster of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Pauls Valley General Hospital in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 90. He was born on September 24, 1920 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Jesse L. Eyster and Ruth Grace (Engle) Eyster. LaVerne married Wilma (Spurgin) Scyrkels on May 18, 1999, in Lindsay, Oklahoma. LaVerne was born and raised in Thomas, OK. He has resided in Lindsay for the past twenty-two years. LaVerne was a retired farmer. He loved to work in his yard and to be with his family. Mr. Eyster is survived by his wife, Wilma Scyrkels Eyster, his son Gary Eyster and wife Linda of Morrison, Oklahoma, two daughters; Sharon Blackburn and husband Al of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Nancy Gripe and husband Ron of Yukon, Oklahoma, three step-daughters; Lisa Jackson of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Pam Yandell and husband Terry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jill Foster and husband Kevin of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, a sister, Helen Unruh of Fairview, Oklahoma, granddaughters; Shelli Barr and husband Brett of Rogers, Arkansas, Angela Carter and husband Sammy of Monroeville, Alabama, Monica Byrd and husband Nick of Lucedale, Mississippi, Jennifer Slaughter and husband Randy of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kendra Crabtree and husband Tommy of Yukon, Oklahoma and Amanda Lile and husband Clint of Yukon, Oklahoma, one grandson, Nathan Eyster and wife Kim of Morrison, Oklahoma. LaVerne also leaves behind ten step-grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren. Mr. Eyster was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileene Campbell Eyster, on August 22nd, 1984 and also, by his parents, Jesse and Ruth Eyster. Funeral services for Mr. Eyster are set for ten-thirty a.m. on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Youth Paster Skylar Anderson officiating and Rev. Bill Baxter assisting. Interment will be held at three o?clock p.m. on the same day at Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G.
