Evelyn Wollenberg

Evelyn Wollenberg of Payne, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday, July 14th, 2009 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Evelyn was born on November 11th, 1925 in Cisco, Texas to Boyd Travis and Hester (Kile) Travis. She married Harold Wollenberg on August 27th, 1946 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Evelyn made a home with her husband, Harold, in Payne, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and wife of a farmer and dairyman. Harold passed away at home on August 28th, 1998. Evelyn was a member of and had previously served as Treasurer for Payne Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Payne Home Extension Club and was an Election Board Official for McClain County. Evelyn loved raising her children and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by two daughters; Barbara Blankenship and husband Ronnie of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Rachel Carwile and husband Joe of Purcell, Oklahoma, two sons; Everett Wollenberg and wife Connie of Payne, Oklahoma and Gene Wollenberg and wife Carla of Perkins-Tryon, Oklahoma, one brother, Ray Dorman Travis and wife Dot of Lindsay, Oklahoma, one sister, Leona Wollenberg of Payne, Oklahoma and ten grandchildren; James, Ron, Paul and Don Blankenship, Kim and Jason Wollenberg, Justin Wollenberg and Gena Crenshaw, and Kevin and Tom Carwile. Evelyn also leaves behind twelve great-granchildren; Katelynn Carwile, Levi Blankenship, Seth Blankenship, Lydia Blankenship, Alayna Blankenship, Belle Blankenship, Calvin Blankenship, Chloe? Blankenship, Caleb Blankenship, Tyler Blankenship, Shane Blankenship and Austin Blankenship. Mrs. Wollenberg was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, Boyd and Hester Travis, her grandparents; Joe and Ellen Travis and John and Rachel Kile, two brothers; Boyd Travis Jr. and Joe Walter Travis and one sister Gladys Travis. Funeral services for Mrs. Wollenberg are set for ten o?clock a.m. on Friday, July 17th, 2009 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Rev. Ron Blankenship and Rev. Travis Wollenberg officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
