Dovie May Ray

Dovie May Ray of Lindsay, Oklahoma departed this life on Monday, March 8th, 2010 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 87. Dovie was born on November 21, 1922 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Raymond Provine McKee and Tressie Verna (Hamilton) McKee. She married Floyd Ray on August 5th, 1939 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Floyd preceded her in death on March 3, 1996. Dovie was a lifelong resident of Lindsay and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay. She was a homemaker, and she loved gardening, crocheting and traveling to visit family and friends. Dovie also enjoyed watching and feeding birds and deer, fishing and going to church. Dovie is survived by her daughter, Bettie White and husband Charlie of Hugo, Oklahoma, her daughter-in-law, Gail Ray of Purcell, Oklahoma, three sisters; Lorene Slate of Purcell, Oklahoma, Lois Hooker of Seminole, Oklahoma and Jeanne Bratton of Wewoka, Oklahoma, and one brother, Manuel McKee and wife Ilene of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Dovie is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Connie Huffman and husband Todd of Mustang, Oklahoma, Michael White and wife Erika of Montgomery, Texas, LuAnn Terrel and husband Will of Ada, Oklahoma, Chris Ray and wife Amber of Miami, Oklahoma, Michelle Ray of Purcell, Oklahoma, Wayne Ray of Louisiana, and Michael Ray of Louisiana, her seven great-grandchildren; Tyler Huffman, Jordan Huffman and Ashley Huffman, all of Mustang, Oklahoma, Zachery Break of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Blaine Break of Ada, Oklahoma, and Ali Terrel and Paige Terrel, both of Ada, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind several great-great grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Ray in death were her husband, Floyd Ray, one son, Larry Ray and her parents, Raymond and Tressie McKee. Funeral services for Mrs. Ray are set for two o?clock p.m. on Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor David Guerrero officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
