Clara Louise Smith

Clara Louise Smith was born to Isaac Denton Carter and Minnie Louella (Tanner) Carter on March 5th, 1935 in Howe, Oklahoma and left this life to be with her Lord on June 22, 2008. Clara married the love of her life, Delbert Smith in Anadarko, Oklahoma on December 18th, 1950. After living in Oklahoma and Texas for a while, they returned to Oklahoma, living in the Foster area for 21 years, and they have resided the last twelve years in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Clara loved shopping, gardening, and sewing, but mostly being with her family and playing with her grandkids. She was a full time wife and mother, and taking care of her family was her highest priority. She was preceded in death by her parents, Denton and Minnie Carter, six brothers: Paris, Ward, J., Bill, Arthur, and Arnold, and two sisters: Velma Sexton and Janie Carter. Clara is survived by her brother Leonard Carter and his wife Marcine of Sapulpa, OK her husband Delbert Smith and their children: Nancy Finney of Lindsay, OK Dale Smith of Haltom City, TX Trena Whitefield and husband James of Lindsay, OK and Scott Smith and wife Dorothy of Maysville,OK her grandchildren: Stephanie Finney of Euless, TX Rachael Nikirk and husband Bruce of Keller, TX Devin Finney and wife Jenni of Lindsay, OK Kristen Velazquez and husband Walter of Fort Worth, TX Dustin Smith of Haltom City, TX Trey Whitefield of Edmond, OK Whitney Klingensmith of Tulsa, OK Candace Smith of Tulsa, OK Donniville, Dellaina, and Destry Smith of Maysville, OK and great-grandchildren: Shelsea Finney, Kylee Arnold, Paige Finney, Coty Ramming, Hayden Nikirk, Marc Nikirk and Nevaeh Velazquez. Clara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. Someone once said that she was the most loving, and unselfish person that they had ever met. She was a wonderful example to her friends and family, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Mrs. Smith are set for Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Greenhill Cemetery.
