Aurthor Carrol Terry

Aurthor Carrol Terry, left this life on November 7, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 79. Aurthor was born on May 25, 1945, in Solomonville, Arizona, to Albert C. Terry and Dorothy (Nelson) Terry. In the early years of his life, Aurthor joined the United States Air Force, where he worked in Strategic Air Command. He served during the Vietnam war era as Sergeant before being honorably discharged at Sheppard Air Force Base in Witchita Falls, Texas. Aurthor served from January 3, 1964, to November 13, 1967. After he left the military, Aurthor graduated with honors from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He went on to work as a computer draftsman for the City of Ada. He remained in that position until his retirement. Aurthor found the Lord in the summer of 1970. That was the first time he heard the song “I See A Crimson Stream of Blood”. He loved that song and he loved the Lord. Aurthor attended the First United Pentecostal Church of Ada, Oklahoma, until his death. Aurthor enjoyed painting western art. He loved building violins and guitars, and even had a patent on a guitar neck that was thin enough for a child to play comfortably, but stable enough that it wouldn’t bow. Aurthor also enjoyed using his blacksmith tools to create and repair different things. Aurthor married the love of his life, Bernie Dale Terry, on January 24, 2009. Through this union, he gained a daughter of the heart, Janet Owens. Aurthor loved the Lord, his wife, and his country. Aurthor is survived by his wife, Bernie Dale Terry, of the home in Ada, Oklahoma, his brothers, Giles Terry of Oil Center, Oklahoma, Gailen Terry of Stratford, Oklahoma, Joe Terry of Galey, Oklahoma, and Scott Terry of Oil Center, Oklahoma, and many other beloved relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Aurthor is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy Terry, and his older brother, Shelby Gene Terry. A funeral service to honor Aurthor’s life is set to be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Pentecostal Church of Ada, in Ada, Oklahoma. An internment will be held following the service at 12:00 P.M. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
