Pearl Lorene Cox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Pearl Lorene Cox, age 75, of Lindsay, OK passed away in Guthrie, OK on February 25, 2001. She was born in Bethel, OK on August 2, 1925 to Walter Rufus South and Ida South. She was married on February 6, 1955 to N.C.(Newt) Cox. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2001. Mrs. Cox lived in the Lindsay area for forty-seven years, having moved from the Pauls Valley area in 1946. Pearl was a homemaker and mother as well as helping her husband in oprerating a welding service and working in the flower shop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay and taught in the Sunday School Nursery for nearly eighteen years and attended regularly for twenty-years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, bowling in her younger years and playing the piano. Survivors include one son Mark Cox and wife Lori Cox of Guthrie, Oklahoma. There are two grandchildren, Richard E. Cox and Ethan Cox. Also surviving are three nieces, Julene Wooldridge, Theresa and Denise Hurt; and one nephew, Gary Hurt. She is preceded in death by her husband; by both parents and one brother and one sister. Funeral arrangements are with B. G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay. Services will be on Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Boydston Funeral Chapel with Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Pearl will be laid to rest at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay.
