Pearl Bowen, age 82, passed away at her home in Maysville, Oklahoma on October 28, 2000. She was born in Purdy, Oklahoma on December 19, 1917 to Joseph Curtis Shelton and Molly Lou Graham Shelton.She was a homemaker, farmer and rancher in the Maysville and Story area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Maysville, the Story Neighbors Womens Club and the Purdy Cemetery Association. Pearl enjoyed traveling, gardening, collecting antiques, shopping and cooking for her family. Survivors include two sons, Larry Joe Bowen and Richard Curtis Bowen of Maysville, OK; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hatzfeld ofWoodland, CA; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Three sisters, Alice Joy Margison of Purcell, OK; Phyllis Richards of Texas and Ruth Stone of Pasadena, CA; one brother, Ray Shelton of Boston, MA.She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Garland Bowen, who passed away on May 29, 1989 in Norman, OK, they were married on December 25, 1938 in Yuma, AZ; one son, Kenneth Garland Bowen; and one daughter, Brenda Lee Bowen; grandaughter, Janet Bowen. By both parents and four brothers, Arthur Shelton, Jay Shelton, Pete Shelton and Guy Shelton and three sisters, Jewell Kelley, Betty Jo Morphew and Lola Mae Daugherty. Funeral arrangements have been made with B. G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, OK. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at the First Baptist Church in Maysville, OK with Rev. Chuck Schilling officiating. Interment will be in Purdy Cemetery, Purdy, OK. Casketbearers are Fred Miller, Bill Stephens, Clarence Bowen, Curtis Morphew, Doug Margison and Lonnie Miller. Honorary pallbearers include Howard Walden, Charles Garner, Bill Guthrie, Brian Miller and Damon Miller.
