Juanita Newberry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Juanita Newberry was born on January 17, 1920 to Barney and May Kidwell in Parker County, Texas, near Weatherford, Texas. She graduated from high school in 1937. She married George Newberry on December 22, 1945 in Weatherford, Texas. She moved to Lindsay, Oklahoma from Midland, Texas in 1956. Her husband George passed away in February of 1998. Juanita continued to live in Lindsay until 2003 when, due to her health reasons, she then moved to Arbor House Assisted Living in Norman, Oklahoma. Juanita was the picture of the perfect wife and mother. She put her husband and sons first. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lindsay, Oklahoma for 60 years having joined in 1956, and she loved her church and her Sunday School Class. She worked in the church nursery for over 20 years, and she made sure that both of her boys always went to church. Juanita also worked at the Senior Citizens “Noon Day” program and she volunteered at the Food Bank. In addition, she volunteered to work in the election process. She loved to talk to and be around people. Juanita passed from this life on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 96. Her loving heart and wonderful spirit will be carried in the hearts of her family members forever. Juanita is survived by her sons, Mike Newberry and wife Susan of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kent Newberry and wife Nancy of Mustang, Oklahoma, one brother, Bob Kidwell of San Angelo, Texas, one sister, Imogene Clay and husband Harry of Weatherford, Texas, three granddaughters, Megan Hubbard and husband Kyle of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Kelsey Chambers and husband Evan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Amy Walls and husband Gary of New Fairview, Texas, one grandson, Rusty Earls of Hinton, Oklahoma, and seven great-grandchildren: Kate and Kash Hubbard of Bartlesville and Kai, Whit and Ladd Chambers of Oklahoma City, and Cougar and Creed Walls of New Fairview, Texas. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, George Newberry, her parents, Barney and May Kidwell, one grandson, Jason Newberry, five brothers: Glen, Homer, Truman, Alvin and Bill Kidwell and two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Harter and Mrs. Mamie Spain. Funeral services for Mrs. Newberry are set for ten o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, located at 401 S.W. 3rd Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. The family would like to thank the Arbor House employees for thirteen years of special love and care.
