Gertrude Vivian Keeler

Gertrude Vivian Keeler was born November 12, 1906 in Indian Territory, to Grant Keeler and Maggie Vaden Keeler in the Payne Community and passed away March 30, 2003 in Chickasha. As a small child Gertrude moved to New Mexico where her family homesteaded for several years, they moved back to Oklahoma then living in California for awhile. When moving back to Oklahoma they purchased a home and farm in Bradley where Gertrude graduated from High School in 1923. During World War II Gertrude worked for Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, Texas. In the early 1950s Gertrude moved back to Bradley to care for her aging parents and remained at the homestead until going to Grace Living Center in Chickasha in 1999. Gertrude is survived by her caretaker, Bob Badertscher. She enjoyed flowers, hoeing in her yard, and sharing bouquets. The front porch was a favorite spot in the Spring and Summer. Services will be held at the Bradley First Baptist Church at 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Cletis Lee officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Bradley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sonny Mitchusson, Jay Mann, Bob Badertscher, Tommy Badertscher, Robby Schmit, and Robert Pennick. Arrangements are under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home.
