George McCann passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73. George lived in Lindsay, Oklahoma most of his life. He was born to George E. McCann and Bess Curtis McCann on May 25, 1931 in Lyons, Kansas. George married Wynell in Lindsay on September 21, 1956. Mr. McCann was a member of the United Methodist Church. George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then returned to Lindsay and worked as a car dealer and restaurant owner. He enjoyed collecting cars, racing cars, football and basketball. George is preceded in death by his father, George E. McCann, Sr., and mother Bess. He is survived by his wife, Wynell of the home, his daughter, Vicki Tomlinson, and son Mickey McCann, five grandchildren, Brandon McCann, Danielle McCann, Cole Tomlinson, Cale Tomlinson, and Cache Tomlinson. Services for Mr. McCann are set for Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Christ in Lindsay, Oklahoma on Hwy 19 West. In honor of Mr. McCann?s military service the Lindsay American Legion, Smith - Ball Post 23 will present the United States flag, give a 21 gun salute and play Taps.
