Ernest Don Knapp

September 10, 1933 - February 10, 2004

Ernest Don Knapp was born on September 10, 1933 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Don passed from this life on February 10, 2004. He married Lois Worley on October 22, 1952. Don was a retired independent truck driver, known as the "Midnight Contractor". He was Baptized in the Church of Christ. He loved gardening working on vehicles, listening and debating the news and politics. He loved to travel, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Knapp is survived by his wife, Lois Worley Knapp, three daughters, Ladonna Jean "Knapp" Wilkes and her husband Bill; Julie Elizabeth "Knapp" Dockery and her husband Dorwin; Jacquelyn Jenette Knapp and two sons, David Keith Knapp and his wife DeNell; and Gary Bryan Knapp. Don is also survived by one brother Richard Knapp and wife, Juanita. Don was the grandfather of fourteen grandchildren; Alicia, Summer, Craig, Jamie, Ashley, Payton, Justin, Jesse, Jon, Kory, Connor, Taylor, Sydny, and Cassidy. He had four great grandchildren; Nathan, Zackery, Alexis, and Kaitlyn. Don is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Myers Knapp, and father Ernest M. Knapp, two brothers, Charles Knapp and Bill Knapp. Services will be held on February 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Erin Springs Baptist Church in Erin Springs. Words of comfort will be delivered by Rev. Bill Love. Pallbearers will be Jack Ince, Johnny Cosby, Eron Wilkins, Horace Rogers, Robert Dickey, and Russell Herring. Honorary Pallbearers will be: William Wilkes, Dorwin Dockery, Donald Sweet, Billy Jack Knapp, John Fallon, Matthew Hamm, and Dennis Yates. Funeral arrangements for Ernest Don Knapp are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, 308 SW Third Street, Lindsay, Oklahoma.
