Emma Maud Branch

Maud Branch, age 88, of Lindsay, OK passed away in Norman, OK on March 18, 2002. She was born on May 20, 1913 in McMannivell, TN to Sam Nunley and Allie Bell Nunley. Maud was the fifth of five children, two brothers and two sisters. At the age of fourteen along with her family they moved to Winchester, TN. Maud was married to Lawrence B. Branch on March 11, 1935 in Winchester, TN. Lawrence and Maud returned to Oklahoma to farm in the Dare Community. Later moving to Lindsay in 1947. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2001. She was a charter member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Lindsay and was very active in church for many years. She is survived by four daughters, Mona Thomas and husband Ralph of Lindsay; Melba Cowin and husband, Don of Norman; Barbara Tobey and husband, Dean of Tuttle; and Debbie Hooper of Yukon, OK. Ten grandchildren, Sue Thomas Smith, Houston, TX; Mike Thomas,Lindsay; Mike Cowin, Norman, OK; Richard Cowin, Arlington, TX; Greg Cowin, Turmbull, Conn.; Rick Tobey, Tuttle, OK; Dennis Tobey, Clarksville, AR; Lisa Turpin, Yukon, OK; Lori Hooper, Scottsdale, AZ; and Christopher Hooper, Oklahoma City. Great grandchildren, Sheridan and Jeffrey Smith; Valerie and Matthew Thomas; Ainsley, Ashley, Tasha, Steven and Angela Cowin; Aaron and Eric Tobey; Michael and Justin Tobey; Amanda, Tyler and Shane Turpin; and five great-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; both parents and two brothers, John Haskill Nunley and Dewey Brown Nunley; and by two sisters, Icie Hennesey and Cleo Frame. Funeral services will be at the Freewill Baptist Church in Lindsay, OK on Wed., March 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Griffith and Rev. Joe Conn officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Thomas, Mike Cowin, Wiley Jordan, Gary Jordan, Karol Finley and Wayne Yandell.
