Delbert Adams, age 90 of Lindsay, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Integris Southwest in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on June 8, 1913 to Irvin Asbury Adams and Mary Cordelia Roberts in Dibble, Oklahoma. Delbert graduated in 1934 from Bradley Schools, he then attended Wilberton and South Western University graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Education, attended Central State University graduating with a Masters Degree in Education, and graduated with a degree in Administration from the University of Oklahoma. During his retirement he attend Mid-America AVTS and received his Realtor License. Delbert was a member of the Banner Baptist Church. He married Delores Deville on July 12, 1958 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Delbert enjoyed bird hunting, coon hunting, watching and playing football, reading, and reading his Bible. In his last days he loved to sit on the porch with his wife; Delbert loved his family. He was in the United States Airforce for 22 years, 8 months, and 24 days where he served in World War II and in the Korean War, he was a retired sixth grade teacher, and retired principal. Delbert is survived by his wife Delores of the home; children: Greg Adams and wife Janet of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Terry Adams of Moore, OK, Donna Schreiber and husband Greg of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Paula Adams Scoggins of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Margarette Ledford and husband Buster of Whitehouse, Texas; grandchildren: Brad Ledford and wife Amy of Whitehouse, Texas, Brandie Cully and husband Grant of Norman, Oklahoma, Derrick Scoggins of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Trace Adams of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Rachelle and Tara McVay of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Emily and Rachel Adams of Cement, Oklahoma, and Kyle and Nicole Schreiber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Great Grandchildren: Lauren and Lana Ledford, of Whitehouse, Texas, and expected baby Luke Cully of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister Mary Jane Eubanks of Chickasha, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by one daughter Elizabeth Diann Adams and both of his parents and seven brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003 at the Banner Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Snook, Rev. Irvin Goodman, and Greg Adams officiating. Casketbearers for the service include: Greg Adams, Terry Adams, Greg Schreiber, Derrick Scoggins, Kyle Schreiber, J.V. Adams, and Devin Smith. Honorary Casketbearers include: Trace Adams, Buster Ledford, and Grant Cully. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, OK. Arrangements are with B.G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay.
