Cordelia Virginia Yarbrough Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cordelia Yarbrough, age 89, of Lindsay, passed away Friday, January 31, 2003 at her home in Lindsay. She was born on August 3, 1913 in Stecker, Oklahoma to John Elmore and Rachel Elizabeth Hall Elmore. Cordy lived in the Garvin County area for many years. She was a member of Erin Springs Baptist Church. Cordy was also a member of Friendship Club and previously a member of Murray Hill Garden Club. Some of her favorite activities were gardening, floral arrangements and playing the organ. She had a great love for animals her cats and two dogs, Queenie and Penny, her horse Lady. Cordy is survived by her husband, Lonnie Gerald Yarbrough, of the home. They were married on October 14, 1942 at Grady County Courthouse in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Children Katerra (Terri) Janette Cosby and husband Johnny Cosby and Lonnie Gerald (Gary) Junior and wife Annette Yarbrough, all of Lindsay and Pamela Kay Akerman and husband Ronnie Akerman of Lexington, OK. Grandchildren Beth Ann Chadwell and Jack Chadwell; Jeff James and Chad Austin James; Jason Yarbrough; Amanda Brady and husband Todd. Great grandchildren Kasidi Chadwell and Cale Brady. Services will be Saturday, February 1, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Love officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers Grandsons and Grandson - in- Laws: Jason Yarbrough, Jeff and Chad James, Todd Brady, Jack Chadwell, Cale Brady and Donny Cosby. Honorary pallbearers Wayne Yandell, Ray Wall, Hubert Everett, Jack Ince, Junior Reeves, and Claude Stansbury. Memorials may be viewed online at www.boydstonfuneral home.com Arrangements are with B.
