Cheryl Lynn Cook Tureman

June 10, 1956 - May 1, 2002

Cheryl Lynn Cook Tureman, age 45, a resident of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away May 1, 2002 at her home in Virginia Beach. Cheryl was born on June 10, 1956, in San Antonio, TX to Duke and June Cook. She graduated from Piedmont High School where she was a cheerleader. Cheryl married Greg Tureman on January 2, 1990 in Enid, OK. Greg is in the Navy and has been stationed in Norfolk, VA for the past 12 years. Cheryl was a devoted wife and mother whose life centered around her husband and daughter. One of her greatest joys was to give parties for her daughter and invited all her friends. Her home is filled with her original paintings and crafts. Cheryl attended the Lutheran Church and was active in school activities. She had a childlike enthusiasm for life that was so contagious you could not help but feel the same when you were around her. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Greg Tureman and daughter, Tiffany Nicole Tureman of the home. She is also survived by her father, Duke Cook and step-mother Arda Cook of Lindsay, OK, twin brother, Darrell Cook and wife Beth of Catoosa, OK, sister, Pamela Knight of Odessa, TX, brother, Bradley Cook and wife Sonya of Guthrie, OK and aunts and uncles, Red & Helen Cook of Broken Arrow, OK, Dr. Harold & Juanita Cook of Shawnee, OK, Jack & Mary James and Dr. Raymond Cook all of Oklahoma City, OK and Alice Cook of Washington and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be Friday, May 10, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Baggett conducting the Memorial Service. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
